Having just finished Mark, we are beginning a new series with the beginning: the book of Genesis. We will be going through Genesis 1-11, the primeval history: the historical, chronological, and sequential account starting from the day of the created universe to the Tower of Babel. Just as the historical account of Jesus in the book of Mark focused on the theological interpretation of His person and work so that we may believe in Christ and receive salvation from (and "in") Him, so too the book of Genesis is not simply a retelling of the events of history. Instead, our Creator tells us everything we need to know about Himself, ourselves, and the very purpose of our lives: to glorify and enjoy Him forever. God begins the Bible by answering the question 'Who is Our God?" in Genesis 1:1-3.
