What is our place in this world? When looking at the world around us as our only source of information, the most logical place to see ourselves is in the Animal Kingdom. The taxonomic classification of Homo sapien assumes that we have a shared family history with other primates and a single common ancestor with all life on earth. But what happens when we follow that logic to its end? When human beings are thought of as simply “highly evolved animals” the result is that people start to behave like animals. But God has revealed to us the reality is that, while we have much in common with God’s other creatures, we are categorically not animals.
